American Made Plywood Case Construction
Gemstone Cabinetry is manufactured from 3/4″ plywood with interior finish choices in clear maple wood veneer or white laminate… no Chinese import plywood or pressboard here.
Veneered plywoods are coated with an ultraviolet light cured finish for durability and uniformity, while white interiors feature high pressure laminated faces for superior wear resistance. Cases feature Lockdowel construction where parts are joined together, a proven and reliable joinery for decades. All plywood and quality construction joinery means decades of dependable quality are engineered into every cabinet.
Full Access, Full Overlay Frameless Design
By engineering our cabinets without face frames, the openings are unrestricted and as wide as possible, allowing more storage space and easier access. Inside depth and width are also larger while maintaining the same outside dimensions. Case components are 3/4″ thick, opposed to typical 1/2″ for framed cabinets.
Solid Dovetailed Drawers with Full Extension Travel and Soft Close
All Gemstone Cabinetry drawers and rollouts are made from solid hardwood, and utilize traditional dovetail construction. Dovetails are commonly associated with traditional wood joinery that dates back hundreds of years. Our use of dovetails pays homage to the longevity and superiority of this method of joining solid wood pieces. Dovetail joints provide strength and durability while allowing the wood to expand and contract when necessary, keeping the joint tight and solid.
Drawer slides are concealed from view under the drawer box. All drawers feature full extension travel so no more lost items in the rear of the drawer. All slides and hinges are also soft closing, eliminating unnecessary noise and shifting contents.
Solid birch dovetailed drawers are standard. Doublewall steel drawers are optional.
